Recently I read on Sherdog.com the idea of "pound 4 pound" is ridiculous. The person who posted the forum said it was something made up by the UFC because they couldn't sign Fedor Emelianenko. These people claim the Heavyweight belt is the top of the food chain because it means you are literally the best MMA fighter in the world. Surprisingly, this guy got a lot of rednecks to agree with his ideas.
Having the HW title probably does mean you can beat any one in the cage but saying P4P is only a myth is foolish! Mixed Martial Arts is a sport, not a backyard brawl and thats why there are weight classes. Are these same people also claiming Manny Pacquiao isn't one of the best pound for pound boxers in the world only because he weighs in at 140? Sherdog.com, why is your site full of these redneck MMA fans who are probably only fans of Matt Hughes and Tim Silvia (the 2 biggest redneck fighters in the UFC in my opinion).
